Following on from a successful Money20/20 Europe, Monica Eaton-Cardone Co-Founder and CIO of Chargebacks911 (part of Global Risk Technologies™) will be speaking at the Airline & Travel Payments & Fraud Conferences 10th ATPS Worldwide.

The event will take place from 25th April – 27th April 2016 in Barcelona. There will be two opportunities to see Monica talk.

The first, at 11am on Tuesday 26th, will see Monica take part in a panel discussion on Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data – the Solutions to Getting Ahead of the Fraudsters Once and for All?

As with Money20/20 Europe, Monica will be sharing the stage with a distinguished panel:

  • Maarten Alleman, CEO, Perseuss

The moderator will be Peter Gross, 2-IC Fraud at Virgin Australia & Chairman Asia-Pacific Airlines Fraud Prevention.

The second opportunity to hear Monica will be at The Ai Lions’ Den on Tuesday 26th April at 4pm.

The subject will be: As customers become ever more mobile and digital, how can the industry’s existing platforms and process catch up?  Innovation is the only answer and often comes from start-up companies. The Lions’ Den is a showcase of these.

Pitchers have just 5 minutes to convince the judges that theirs is the best solution to digital challenges!

The moderator will be Michael Smith, Managing Partner, Airline Information Lions.  He will be assisted by the following judges:

  • Stephen Griffiths, Head of Finance Services, Flybe
  • Dave Holmes, SVP Sales, UATP
  • Salvador Rodriguez, Collections Engineer, LogiTravel Group
  • Omer Sirka, Corporate Account Manager, Turkish Airlines

Those under the spotlight, joining Monica, are from:

  • Cybersouce
  • Ypsilon – IATA Fraud Manager
  • Riskified
  • HSBC

Monica comments: “The travel industry has, as do many industries, the burden of chargeback fraud to contend with as it strives to make a profit.  It is estimated that up to 2% of an airline’s revenue, in the indirect channel, is lost through credit card fraud.

“The cost of screening transactions against the threat of fraud is especially worrying: 26% of online bookings require additional manual reviews due to suspicion of fraud and up to a staggering 25% of orders are rejected (false positives) because of their automated fraud screening methods.

“The Airline & Travel Payments & Fraud Conferences 10th ATPS Worldwide is a chance to swap ideas, make new collaborations and fightback for the travel industry against chargeback fraud.”

We hope to see you in Barcelona a later this month.
