Fintech Week, financial technology’s largest event celebrating the intersection of finance and technology, begins on Monday 14th September and is set to bring together some of the leading figures in the UK to celebrate innovation within the financial services sector.

With London swiftly gaining a reputation as the Fintech capital of Europe, Fintech Week brings together some of the leading figures in the sector to discuss emerging opportunities and challenges that need to be overcome in 2016 and beyond.

Five major themes lead this year’s event, including: money and payments; markets, trading and investment; big data, enterprise and security; banking financial services and insurance; and start-ups and future funding. The event’s purpose is to enhance the dialogue between established multi-nationals and disruptive start-ups.

The UK is currently dominating the European financial technology market and recent figures show that over 10% of global fintech investment has gone to the UK and start-ups based here have pulled in more than the rest of Europe combined. London’s Fintech sector attracted record levels of investment in 2014 and now outplays New York and Silicon Valley in terms of employment, as well as an unrivalled combination of talent, connectivity and status as one of the world’s leading financial centres.

As the Fintech sector experiences rapid growth and strength, Global Risk Technologies™ believes that the most testing issue in Fintech today lies with the booming ecommerce market. With a significant increase in ecommerce spending means greater technological help is needed to combat the increasing sophistication of fraudsters. Attracting delegates as far afield as North America and the Middle East, we look forward to seeing what London’s largest financial festival has to offer.

Fintech Week runs 14th – 20th September 2015 in London. For more information visit www.fintechweek.com.
